This is a working draft written for the Let's Hang beta. It describes how the app behaves today and will be reviewed before public launch.
Your account email, display name, optional username and photo, the interests you pick, and an optional phone number. If you connect a calendar we import event timing and availability information only — never titles, descriptions, locations or other attendees.
Friends see merged busy and open windows on your calendar, never event details or their source. Your phone number is stored in a normalised form for matching and is never displayed to anyone, including you.
We never write to your calendar, never sell your data, and never show an invite's street address to anyone the host hasn't approved.
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Let's Hang asks for read-only access to your calendar list, events, and settings. Access is read-only: Let's Hang never creates, edits, or deletes events in your Google Calendar.
From your calendar list we read each calendar's name and identifier, used only to identify and label the calendars you connect. From events we read only availability information: start and end times, whether the event is all-day, its status, whether it is marked busy or free, its event type, and your own response (for example, whether you declined). We never read event titles, descriptions, locations, or other attendees. This data is used only to build your own busy/open time windows so friends can see when you are free without seeing what you are doing.
Let's Hang's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We sync a rolling window of 30 days back and 90 days forward. Disconnecting Google Calendar deletes every imported busy block from that connection. Raw Google Calendar data is never shared with friends or other users.
You can hide your availability, turn off discovery by phone or username, mute or block any friend, and disconnect a calendar (which deletes every event imported from it). You can permanently delete your account yourself in Settings, under Delete account.
